Job Description:

This position will report to a Controller in the Houston office.  This role will support the Western Hemisphere EDA Finance group by performing accounting duties covering the US and South America General Ledgers.  This role requires the ability to independently perform advanced general ledger accounting, apply critical thinking and problem-solving skills, be adaptive to quick changes, and contribute as a team player.  

Job Responsibilities:

  • Monthly GL Accounting - Perform monthly closing process of general ledger; prepare general journal entries, prepare & manage accruals, prepare and/or review account analysis and reconciliation of accounts, review and analyze the trial balance.  

  • Maintenance of monthly revenue file in relation to IFRS 15

  • Maintenance of monthly capex file with cost tracking

  • Contract Cover Sheet review verifying all approvals have been received and revenue is listed per contract

  • Developing relationships with multiple groups within the company (Accounting teams / Operations / Sales Management)

  • Client interactions / dealing with 3rd party payment systems (requirements & setups) in order to confirm accurate submission of invoicing (and timely cash collections)

  • Vendor interactions / BL Operations – working with 3rd parties on project costs

  • Complexity in certain regions, dealing with multiple entities / foreign exchange rate exposure / local regulations

  • Complex accounting guidance in relation to Revenue IFRS 15 / Asset treatment (preferred not required)

  • Audit support for external and internal audit requests

  • Other Accounting Duties as backup or assistance as needed-

    • Government Reports- Preparation and review of Government Reports.

    • Continuous Improvement - Contribute to continuous process improvement to help scale the Company and support the vision of the Company.

    • Other duties and projects as assigned.

Qualifications/Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting required

  • 5+ years’ experience in accounting roles.

  • This is a Houston based role and requires at least 3 days per week to be in the office (subject to change at any time).

  • Experience with IFRS accounting standards and foreign currency.

  • Oracle and OneStream experience preferred.

  • Superior Microsoft Office Suite skills including Excel, Word, etc.

  • Be adaptive to change, encourage innovation and process improvements.

  • Strong oral and written communication skills.

  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and competing deadlines.

  • Excellent organizational skills and ability to lead tasks and initiatives.

  • Be attentive to detail and accuracy.
