Job Summary (includes but is not limited to the following, other duties may be assigned)
Responsible for supporting Calpine’s strategic HR objectives by delivering HR advise/service across the organization covering all or several of the following areas: recruiting, compensation and benefits, training, employee and labor relations, and safety. Maintains all necessary records and files for reporting and audit purposes. Prepares reports in conformance with legislated requirements or organization needs. Assists department members with a variety of project-related activities in all key functional areas.
Job Responsibilities
This is an HR professional role with significant focus on maintaining pipeline programs to recruit the best-qualified and skilled candidates for multiple and varied disciplines within the company. Position will sit in the corporate office, reporting directly to the Dir., Human Resources - Head of Recruitment. This is not a fully remote position.
- Prepare for and attend all Campus Career Fairs, both local and out of state.
- Collaborate with hiring managers on a regular basis and proactively identify future hiring needs for all Pipeline programs (Rotation Engineer, Co-Op, Internship, Trainee)
- Coordinate the Summer Internship program, including meetings and events.
- Pre-screen and assess applicants’ relevant knowledge, skills, soft skills, experience and aptitudes
- Maintain a constant applicant flow and ensuring a strong pipeline of candidates in background process
- You should also be able to attract candidates using various sources, like social media networks and employee referrals
- Coordinates internal job postings and transfers program, checks references and prepares new hire material.
- Following proper policies and procedures in recruiting and human resource administration
- Monitor and apply HR recruiting best practices
- Other duties and projects as assigned.

Job Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent.
- Seasoned professional; typically requires 3+ years experience
- Ability to think of creative solutions to increase applicant flow as needed and executing.
- Ability to build and foster excellent internal relationships with stakeholder of various levels is a must.
- Ability to build and foster relationships with external programs such as local work force development centers, vocational/technical schools, military outlets, etc.
- Excellent communication skills, both oral and written.
- Proficient Excel computer skills
- Good leadership skills.
- Organized and self-sufficient.
- Multi-tasked orientated.
- Maintain the highest level of confidentiality, at all times.
