The Role:
The Senior Accountant will play a critical role in managing the financial operations of the firm, including overseeing accounting processes, preparing financial statements, and ensuring compliance with U.S. tax regulations. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in real estate accounting, experience with U.S. limited partnerships, and individual tax matters. Proficiency in Mandarin is a plus, as it will facilitate communication with our international stakeholders.
This position is full-time (40 hours a week). It may require limited weekend and evening hours for special projects.
The work location is in Houston, TX. (Onsite)
What You’ll Do - Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
• Oversee and manage the daily accounting functions, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger, and financial reporting.
• Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, ensuring accuracy and compliance with GAAP.
• Manage the financial operations of U.S. limited partnerships, including capital calls, distributions, and investor reporting.
• Assist in the preparation and review of federal and state tax returns, with a focus on real estate partnerships and individual investors.
• Support the firm's tax compliance and planning efforts, including coordination with external tax advisors.
• Analyze financial data and prepare reports to support decision-making by senior management.
• Coordinate with property management teams to ensure accurate and timely financial reporting for each asset.
• Conduct cash flow analysis, budget variance analysis, and forecast financial performance.
• Ensure compliance with internal controls and assist with the implementation of process improvements.
• Provide support during audits and reviews by external auditors.
• Assist with the integration of new acquisitions into the firm's accounting systems.

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA or equivalent certification preferred.
• 5+ years of experience in accounting, with a focus on real estate, private equity, or investment management.
• Strong understanding of U.S. GAAP, especially as it applies to real estate and private equity transactions.
• Experience with U.S. limited partnerships and individual tax returns, particularly in a real estate context.
• Experience with audit support
• Proficiency in accounting software and advanced knowledge of Excel.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
• Fluency in Mandarin is a plus.
Preferred Experience:
• Experience with real estate investment trusts (REITs) and fund accounting.
• Knowledge of international tax issues related to real estate investments.
• Experience working with international investors and partners, particularly in China.

Compensation:
Pay range: $90,000 - $120,000.00 annual (D.O.E.)
Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis and able to commute to Houston, TX. We do not currently provide work sponsorship.
