PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:



  • Working as part of the Aftermarket Field Engineering group, the main role of the position will be the configuration of Computer Servers for Data Collection applications.

  • Also, the engineer will provide planning, delivery schedules and documentation of Data Collectors for BOP and Drilling Control Systems Projects as part of a Project Team or as a Project Manager.

  • Will Interface and communicate with customers (both internal and external), vendors, I&C personnel and project engineers about advances and statuses of Data Collector projects.

  • Using Company and Group processes will maintain structured documentation of Data Collectors’ projects as a whole package. This will include manual, installations and testing procedures, configuration files and other documentation.

  • Other activities as assigned by the manager.


Skill & Knowledges



  • Computer Servers skills with an emphasis on knowledge of virtualization and ability to configure them in organized, structured, and documented manner that will help with maintainability and reuse of new and the existing system.

  • Knowledge of VMWare virtual machines functionality.

  • Work under Engineering constraints.

  • Ability to use software tools for diagnosing and troubleshooting of data collectors.

  • Knowledge of different flavors of data transmission as well as communication protocols, like OPC DA and UA, Siemens Profinet, Rockwell communications protocols, etc.

  • SCADA HMI Programming Skills to generate HMI screens for complex machinery while providing sufficient feedback for troubleshooting. Knowledge of FactoryTalk, Wonderware Intouch, Proficy iFix and Siemens FactoryLink is preferred.

  • Ability to read/understand electrical schematics, wiring and logic diagrams used on most of the systems that NOV makes.


Education /Experience Requirements:



  • 2+ years of experience with VMWare ESXi software for hardware partitioning and Windows Server OS.

  • Computer Engineer Bachelor's (or related)
