Duties, Responsibilities & Other






KCI Technologies, Inc., a dynamic employee-owned engineering firm, currently has an opening for Sr. Construction Project Manager. CMs will function in an Agency role and be responsible for reviewing and analyzing CPM schedules, preparing new schedules for construction and design projects. CM will be required to prepare and analyze schedules, prepare cost estimates and negotiate change orders, maintain document control, solve construction problems in the field, and establish an effective working relationship with clients, contractors, and designers.

  • Identifying and pursuing client contacts to establish long-term relationships and develop new projects.
  • Identifying opportunities and leading the strategy to pursue and capture those targeted opportunities. 
  • Assisting Market Leaders/Discipline Managers and others in working across all disciplines within the geography.
  • Leading development of internal proposal strategy including Go/NoGo decisions, teaming, win themes, writing assignments, graphics, etc.
  • Managing relationships with key public and private stakeholders, potential partners, government leaders, professional associations and other organizations.
  • Serving as KCI delegate to key Community and Professional Organizations
  • Serve as a Sr. Project Manager as needed on construction projects

 

The ideal candidate will posses the following preferred qualifications:

  • Certifications such as EIT, PE and CCM are preferred\Knowledge and experience in preparing and analyzing construction CPM schedules, contractor payment requisitions, RFI's, changes and requests for equitable adjustments. Ability to read and interpret plans and specifications. Familiarity with CPM scheduling and standard scheduling software. Familiarity with cost estimating and standard estimating software. Ability to manage budgets and large teams. Familiarity with establishing and maintaining document control on a construction project and use of document control software. Ability to use a computer and Microsoft Office Suite. Strong writing and speaking skills. Ability to work with and establish relationships with clients, contractors, and design engineers. 
  • Agency CM experience required, CCM a plus. More than 10 years of experience in managing or supporting the management of construction projects as an Owner's representative for federal, state and municipal agencies. Project experience should consist of heavy highway, asphalt and concrete paving, utility relocations, landscaping, pavement markings, quality control, public outreach, sub-contractor management, stakeholder coordination and management. Experience in reviewing and analyzing critical path method schedules for completeness, realistic durations, logical construction sequences.








Qualifications






  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience required. Secondary degree such as a Master's, or licenses and certifications preferred.
  • Minimum of 7 - 12 years of experience.
  • Pre-employment drug screening is a condition of employment. Background and motor vehicle checks may be required based upon position.









Performance Expectations






  • Complete Annual Individual Training Program
  • Hire and train additional personnel as required
  • Submit for approval and deliver timely annual Employee Performance Appraisals for assigned staff
  • Train adequate backup personnel to support your role in your absence
  • Develop and maintain customer relationships by soliciting monthly performance feedback, identifying client needs, and identifying the next project
  • Comply with all KCI policies and procedures
  • Ensure projects fulfill ISO compliance requirements
  • Establish strong working relationship with client, contractors, and design engineers
  • Maintain active participation in professional and business organizations
  • Manage work routine of all assigned staff and assign job activities as required
  • Complete other duties as required/assigned
  • Achieve or exceed budgeted individual utilization target
  • Assist with receivables management
  • Complete all tasks on time and within budget while fully meeting the scope
  • Consult and coordinate with other practices and sub-consultants as required
  • Ensure effective use of equipment and personnel
  • Manage project schedule and track burn rate to deliver all projects on time and within KCI's budget while fully meeting scope
  • Operate within specified (corporate or project) budget parameters
  • Analyze change orders and disputes and make recommendations to the owner
  • Maintain document control for correspondence, RFIs, submittals, etc.
  • Prepare and analyze schedules
  • Prepare cost estimates
  • Read plans and specifications and understand the construction contractor's means and methods
  • Solve construction problems in the field
  • Test, document, and assure quality of contractor's work
