The Opportunity 

The Staff Accountant is responsible for supporting the Accounts Payable (A/P) functions and processing bimonthly payroll for the Company. This role will also contribute to certain month-end close duties and play an integral part in maintaining the Company’s internal control. This is a great opportunity for professionals with excellent analytical skills who enjoy working in a challenging and fast-paced environment.  

This is a hybrid position working four days in the office and one flexible, remote day.

Responsibilities 

  • Full-cycle Accounts Payable to include vendor invoicing, payment processing, reconciliations, expense reimbursement, reporting, administrative tasks, etc. 
  • Record journal entries and assist with reconciling intercompany account balances and prepaid account balances.
  • Assist with external and internal audit requests. 
  • Process payroll on a bimonthly schedule, ensuring accuracy and compliance with company policies and legal requirements.
  • Maintain payroll records, including earnings, deductions, taxes, and other relevant information.
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state and local employment tax laws for a multi-state company.
  • Assist employees and managers with understanding of policies and processes as it relates to payroll.
  • Perform other tasks and assignments as needed and specified by management.

Qualifications 

  • A Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting from an accredited four-year college or university is required. 
  • A minimum of one year of general accounting or public accounting experience is required.
  • At least six months of experience processing multistate payroll is required. 
  • Current possession of or working towards a CPA is preferred. 
  • Efficient in ERP systems; experience with Oracle/NetSuite a plus.
  • Experience processing payroll through ADP Workforce Now is a plus. 
  • Exceptional analytical, quantitative, and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong time management skills with the ability to work independently to meet deadlines. 
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills. 
  • Observant, accurate and able to thrive under pressure.
  • Understand internal controls and SOX compliance.
  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel.

Compensation

Base salary plus annual bonus and benefits.
