POSITION OVERVIEW

Asenda is looking for an experienced VP of Marketing who thrives in an entrepreneurial environment and has the experience and success to fully own all marketing efforts at a rapidly growing start-up company. As Asenda’s VP of Marketing, you will be responsible for guiding the company’s marketing efforts through all the stages of our growth. Reporting to the Chief Executive Officer, this leadership position will be responsible for creating and executing a marketing and brand strategy that ties together all business units and acquisitions with a strategic and hands-on approach.

Your duties will include managing all marketing operations, assessing and improving existing initiatives, and devising new strategies to increase revenue. To be successful in this role, you will have to be able to tailor marketing strategies to complement the organization’s objectives. You will need excellent leadership and communication skills to successfully provide guidance to your team, and you should have a vast knowledge of current marketing trends.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:  

  • Develop a comprehensive marketing strategy, campaigns, and programs to grow the brand and increase revenue
  • Create and own the go-to-market strategy for new products & features, setting clear objectives and goals, researching and defining target audiences, developing marketing and communication strategies, and measuring adoption
  • Execute a sophisticated marketing plan while effectively managing brand and reputational risk to ensure the internal and external brand is optimally aligned with the organization’s strategic objectives
  • Facilitate frequent communication between the company’s sales, project management and account management teams, assuring the on-time delivery of all campaigns to ensure they remain on-budget, on-time, and on-quality
  • Collaborate frequently and effectively with internal and external sales teams to maximize program impact, creating collateral for operations initiatives
  • Drive the evolution of our brand positioning, bringing it to life in a clear and consistent way that resonates with and motivates our target audiences, promoting the company as an innovator to the press and public and overseeing outbound customer-facing communications across our website, blog, and social channels
  • Collaborate and lead across the organization, representing the voice of the customer within the organization, bringing your insights to cross-functional stakeholders across product, design, user experience, engineering, and executive leadership
  • Nurture existing relationships with key partners, aligning on mutual goals and driving adoption through a variety of co-marketing efforts
  • Mentor, develop, and coach the Marketing team, determining talent needs and adding to the team as needed to deliver quality solutions in a timely and effective manner
  • Manage Marketing department annual budget
  • Plan and manage the local calendar and promotions that are aligned to local events, industry publications advertising, associations campaigns and seasonality trends
  • Make recommendations for messaging and positioning by market to feed into local strategies and field campaigns
  • Make recommendations to executive leaders based on intel to inform planning and decision making across new business activity
  • Build a network of reliable external agencies and marketing professionals
  • Conduct market research and stay abreast of competitor positioning
  • Reinforce and strengthen the brand voice and elevate the reputation of the organization, positioning it as a pioneer and as a leader
  • Develop and execute rebranding strategies in line with the company’s M&A growth strategy

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Communication, or a related field
  • A Master's degree in Marketing or a related field, or an MBA is highly desirable
  • Experience leading marketing functions for an organization that has gone through the IPO lifecycle, specifically experience leading marketing in the pre-IPO transformation, the IPO transaction, and the post-IPO transaction stages
  • Strong track record of success as a Senior Marketing Manager with 10+ years of experience in a high growth B2B and B2C business, preferably SaaS
  • A demonstrated track record of success growing a brand into a leadership position in the Healthcare industry
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills including the ability to craft and sign off on campaign messaging, press releases and copy
  • Strong influencing and collaboration skills and a proven track record of working with leaders within an organization to operationalize plans on time and deliver to KPIs, present plans, obtain feedback and share insights
  • Experience optimizing all marketing channels and programs including email marketing, performance marketing, social media, content marketing, growth marketing strategies, mobile, offline, media and PR, community engagement and grassroots marketing
  • A strong creative streak and demonstrated track record of brand development and storytelling
  • Experience creating internal marketing systems and infrastructure for the existing business and new market expansion
  • Experience promoting brands and marketing services in highly regulated markets
