Assistant Fleet Manager

Assist with organizing and supervising the performance of a variety of skilled, semi-skilled, and unskilled technicians in the diagnosis, repair, and maintenance of vehicles and to conduct more complex diagnostic and repair work with little to no supervision.

Required Competencies

• Positive interaction with team of service writers and technicians.
• Prioritize and organize workload.
• Inspect repaired vehicles to ensure customer satisfaction.
• Provide estimates with supporting documentation for customer approval.
• Effectively communicate with technicians and notify them of needed repairs.
• Follow up with technicians on estimates, repairs, progress, etc.
• Consistently notify service writers the status of repairs and completion.
• Submit parts availability requests for estimates.
• Contact subcontracted vendors for status checks and repair completions.
• Control parts distribution to technicians once received.
• Complete daily shop/yard inspection.
• Ensure repair orders are processed for billing in a timely manner.
• Collect and process payments for COD customers.
• Ensure shop is shut down and secured properly.
• Fill in during department absences
• Upkeep and cleanliness of work areas.
• Follow company safety & security guidelines
• Attendance and punctuality are essential functions of this job.
• Other duties as assigned.
